Thirty keen tasters joined us at The Jericho Wine Rooms, where we learned about the mountain terroir that gives the Tiefenbrunner wines their unique character.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.oxfordwine.co.uk\/products\/tiefenbrunner-merus-pinot-grigio\">Tiefenbrunner Merus Pinot Grigio 2023<\/a> &#8211; our first wine was a real surprise to many tasters, showing them what Pinot Grigio tastes like at its best. Many around the room said it was the best example of this grape that they&#8217;d ever tasted, with its expressive stone fruit notes and bright, refreshing acidity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.oxfordwine.co.uk\/products\/tiefenbrunner-anna-weissburgunder\">Tiefenbrunner Anna Weissburgunder 2022<\/a> &#8211; Weissburgunder, or Pinot Blanc, is an often overlooked grape variety. This example was dry, textured and slightly savoury. A gastronomic wine that we all thought would really shine when paired with the right dishes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.oxfordwine.co.uk\/products\/tiefenbrunner-merus-gewurztraminer\">Tiefenbrunner Merus Gewurztraminer 2023<\/a> &#8211; An Italian style of Gewurztraminer which is lighter, fresher and less oily than many Alsatian examples &#8211; and much more drinkable for it!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.oxfordwine.co.uk\/products\/tiefenbrunner-turmhof-sauvignon-blanc\">Tiefenbrunner Turmhof Sauvignon Blanc 2021<\/a> &#8211; This was a Sauvignon Blanc unlike many of us were used to. With ripe grapefruit flavours and a deliciously complex struck-match character it was utterly gorgeous.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.oxfordwine.co.uk\/products\/tiefenbrunner-merus-vernatsch\">Tiefenbrunner Merus Vernatsch 2022<\/a> &#8211; A quick diversion into red wine brought us to this Vernatsch, AKA Schiava. A light, bright red wine that we served beautifully chilled. Perfect for summer barbecues!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.oxfordwine.co.uk\/products\/tiefenbrunner-feldmarschall-von-fenner-muller-thurgau\">Tiefenbrunner Feldmarschall Von Fenner Muller Thurgau 2021<\/a> &#8211; Our final wine of the evening was one of the estate&#8217;s most iconic. The Feldmarschall Von Fenner vineyard is home to the highest altitude plantings of Muller Thurgau in Europe and prove the quality potential of this often maligned grape variety.
