Sake’s popularity is booming! With Japan’s exports at an all-time high, and sake breweries popping up all over the world, what better time to start drinking sake?
Your host Andy has a wealth of experience with sake, having worked for the Sake Sommelier Association before joining OWC. He will be presenting this tasting alongside Bec, who is an enthusiastic Sake beginner – meaning there’s no need to worry about asking silly questions, as she will be doing that for you!
In this informal and fun introduction to Japan’s mysterious fermented rice beverage, we will discuss how sake is made and what makes it so unique. There will be six great sakes to taste throughout the evening; the highlights include a traditional method sparkling sake, a plum macerated sake (aka umeshu), and the pinnacle of quality, a Junmai Daiginjo!
