We are incredibly excited to be bringing you an evening of fine food and spectacular Champagne, in partnership with Champagne Bollinger, and hosted by our friends at Oxford institution The Cherwell Boathouse.
We’ll be joined by Bollinger’s International Sales Director Guy de Rivoire. Guy has been with Bollinger for twelve years, and his truly sparkling career also involves stints with Ruinart, Dom Pérignon and Veuve Clicquot.
On arrival you will be greeted with a glass of Bollinger Special Cuvée NV (£57/bottle) – the house’s flagship Champagne and a true classic among the Grand Marques.
The starter will be accompanied by a glass of Bollinger’s single vineyard Blanc de Noirs – PN AYC 18 (£105). This stunning wine is an assembly of 100% Pinot Noir, predominantly from the Aÿ cru. The base year is 2018, but is also blended with reserve magnums, the oldest of which dates back to 2009.
Our highlight of the evening must surely be Bollinger’s celebrated Grande Année 2014 (£155). A detailed assembly of 19 crus, then matured in 20-year-old oak barrels for true complexity. A powerful wine, this stellar wine showcases the true skill of Bollinger winemaking team.
Dessert will be accompanied by Bollinger Rosé NV (£63). This classy wine which combines freshness, structure, and elegance. Produced using an assembly of over 85% Grand and Premier crus, it also exhibits real quality and will be a delicious way to end the meal.
The wines will accompany a specially paired menu, designed by the talented kitchen team at The Cherwell Boathouse. This will be a set menu, although allergies and intolerances can be accommodated. Your ticket price includes one glass of each of the four champagnes. If you wish to order additional wine, this can be done through the restaurant on the night.
